A friend of mine is talking about moving to North Carolina. Of course, that is my home state and a place where my heart is.
I grew up in North Carolina and it is a wonderful place to raise a family. In fact, all of my family lives in NC. But, I guess you could say, I have always been the wanderer and I have lived in many places.
My friend is looking around and trying to decide what town to live in. Of course, I have my own preferences but it wouldn’t be fair to her if I pushed them in one direction or another. They need to make up their own mind as to where to live.
I already told her that I can get her hooked up with a great insurance company, Blue Cross North Carolina. Another friend of mine has it and loves it.
There are so many things that you have to do when you move. It kinda sucks, all the things that you have to change. But that is one of the prices you have to pay to be able to start all over again.
I wish her and her family the best of luck wherever they decide to move to!

Today is a day that will be forever etched in our minds. We remember the fallen heros and victims that tragically lost their lives 8 years ago.
There was a lot of confusion that day. Many tears and questions that went unanswered for what seemed like an eternity for some. There were exam tables that were used, waiting rooms filled, and hospitals beds that filled up faster than anyone could believe.
So many prayers were going up and so many knees bowed that day and many days to follow.
I was one of those that prayed for those lost and the ones that were trying to find all the survivors that they possibly could.
I was sitting in a court room that day, dressed in my Army greens. I was there due to my ex trying to sue me for custody of my daughter. He had no fighting chance but I still had to be there. I was with my mom as we sat in the court waiting for the judge to come in.
A deputy of the court came in and leaned down and was talking to one of the attorneys and told him what had happened. Of course, my mom and I were unaware of what was going on at the moment. Then the panic and running around started.
We walked down to a little cafe and saw the news and stood there in shock as we watched the horrific images unfold right before our eyes.
I called my commanding officer to find out what I needed to do. I was told to immediately get out of my uniform and come back to base as soon as it was safely possible.
I left the next day and drove back to where I was stationed. It was a very eerie thing being on the highway during that time. The amount of cars were so few. The were no planes in the sky. It was a very solemn drive back.
Where were you when the terrorists stuck our nation? May we never forget the sacrifice of countless heroes, the lives that were lost, and the families that were left to carry on. May God continue to bless them all!

As Christmas approaches, the clock is ticking down, and panic starts to set in. Well, not for the ones that already have all of their shopping done!
My friend is looking for unique gift ideas to give to her family this year that won’t break the bank. Of course, with all of you geniuses out there, I am sure you have a few ideas as well.
One of the ideas she came up with is putting photos of her kids on a mouse pad. Now, I didn’t say it was original.
Another idea that came across was promotional pens. What better way for family members to remember you than with a pen.
I know there have been all sorts of photo ideas given for things to do with pictures like coffee mugs, coasters, calendars, and the list goes on and on. I think the ideas even get cooler as time goes by. You can now put a picture on a birthday cake. Pretty sweet!
She needs this by Christmas of course, so any ideas would be fantastic. Thanks so much!

I have been trying to find this leather sofa for my pastor’s wife and am coming up empty handed!
A little background…
My pastor’s wife at my church is so awesome. She is always upbeat and positive. She is so much fun. She is the children’s director at church and that is no light job, mind you.
Anyhoo, the church is building a bigger building next to the current one and making all kinds of really neat and cool upgrades to enable us to not only house the current membership we have but also to help us grow more efficiently.
She has many strong qualities and attributes but the one thing that she doesn’t like to do is research on the Internet. That is where I come in.
I love finding stuff on the Internet, shopping, and finding great deals. So she asked me to find this sofa that she saw in a local store in Florida.
No problem I said. How hard could it be? Right? WRONG!!!
I have looked high and low, through furniture catalog after furniture catalog, visited numerous sites, searched, googled, you name it, I have done it.
I can’t find this thing. So I figured I would see if any of you out there may know where I can find this thing one, and two a store that will ship it to us.
The sofa is made be DeCoro and it is called the Tanner. The store she saw it at doesn’t deliver nor ship. So any help on where we can find this would be AWESOME!!! The picture is at the beginning of the post. Thanks so much!

I am a little behind times when it comes to technology. I am a very simple person and really don’t care to much about the latest trend in anything. Be it clothes, the latest, greatest computer, hair styles, whatever. It just doesn’t really matter to me.
But, my friend on the other hand is a different story. She likes to stay up on the latest things. She gets behind sometimes, but it usually doesn’t take long for her to catch up.
Her latest thing is to go wireless with her computer. No modem, no cables, no connection, just totally wireless.
She has talked to a couple of different companies about it and she is weighing her options with all of it.
I can’t wait to tell her about the Linksys router that I ran across. It is pretty cool if you are in that techie stuff. I am sure she will think it is cool.
Now I am sure a lot of you out there are probably laughing and scratching your head thinking, man this girl is very archaic. Yeah, you’re right, I am. But to me, there are more important things in life that demand my attention than the latest and greatest things that ‘they’ just came out with.
But hey, to each his own, right!
