eBaY SHoPPeR sig Pictures, Images and PhotosI am addicted. Yes, it is true. I am addicted to shopping on eBay.

Anything that I am looking to purchase, I no longer run to the store, I run to eBay and look there first. Nine times out of ten, I find a much better price.

Yes, you have the shipping that you have to wait for, but you know, if you plan ahead, then you can really save money on things that you need like iphone accessories, a wii nunchuck, Doodlebops DVD, and vacuum bags, just to name a few.

The most impressive thing that I have found lately on eBay is these waterproof name labels that Christie Collections sells.

These labels are wonderful. They are waterproof and so they are perfect for things like sippy cups, pacifers, and wipe boxes. Of course, there are hundreds of more things that you can use these for.

They come in 2 different sizes. And you can usually get a pack for under $5 and that includes shipping. She is so great to work with. She stands behind her products, too. You won’t be disappointed! I guarantee it!

Ebay is a great place to save money. It is one of my favorites, maybe it is one of yours too!

First Haircut

Before pic of first haircut   My baby, who is now two, just got her first haircut today. I am happy with her haircut but the experience was so disappointing.I will say that she did excellent. Didn’t cry. Not once!!!

I used the directory listing to try and find someone who specialized in kids cuts, but I came up empty handed. There were no beauty salons or barbers that specialized in cutting kids hair. That would be a great thing for someone to specialize in if they were in that field.

When my older children got their first haircut, they got a certificate as a keepsake to take home with them and a sucker. The barber was more than happy to allow me to take pictures as well. The barber also collected some hair for you to save. It was a wonderful experience.

Not this time. The stylist who cut her hair was ‘camera shy’. Didn’t want to be in the pics at all. The haircut itself only took a couple of minutes, which was fine if I had someone there with me taking pictures, but I didn’t and I had to help with my daughter.first haircut

There was no certificate, no keepsake, no nothing to memorialize my daughters first cut. Just a few pictures that I was able to snap really quickly. And I collected some hair to keep for her baby book.

Most moms are like me when it comes to ‘firsts’ with their children. First tooth, first step, first haircut. We want to save these memories. face it, our kids grow up so fast. It is nice to have something to look back on. It would have been so awesome to find a salon that specialized in kids cuts and made a big deal about it.

after first haircutAs a mom, it is a big deal to me!

A New Trainer

Diet & Weight Loss Pictures, Images and Photos  I am so happy to announce that I have a new trainer. Well, not so much a trainer as a friend, who is willing to work out with me and keep me accountable.

I am so excited about this. I, by nature, am pretty lazy, especially when it comes to working out. Not to mention that I LOVE food. I really love to eat. But I know that the older I get the harder it is to loose the weight that has crept up on me over the last few years.

My friend who is going to start helping me, has lost 50 pounds since April of this year. That is only 4 months. What did she do? Well, I asked her that exact question. This is what she told me.

She runs 3-4 times per week. She works out at the gym several times a week too. She also counts calories. No more than 1500 calories a day and she also eats 140g of protein each day. WHEW!! No wonder she lost all that weight.

Sounds like a lot of work to me, but I see her results. She is doing what she needs to do. Of course you can continue to buy diet pills and diet drinks like I have been doing, or you can do what actually works.

Bottom line, get off the couch and get busy!

Yard Sale

good yard sale sign Pictures, Images and PhotosOk, enough is enough. I have gotten to the point that I have accumulated so much ’stuff’ over the years, that I am basically going to be forced to have a yard sale.

I have to get rid of some of this stuff. I think that a yard sale would be the quickest and easiest way to get rid of more stuff at one time. I have thought about putting some of the bigger items like diamond rings, motorcycle covers, furniture, collectibles, and so on, on eBay or craigslist. But I believe that that would be too much work and I would have to wait for a while, then you have shipping and all that. Uggh!

Not only do I have a lot of my things that need to be gotten rid of, but my hubby has a bunch of stuff to get rid of too. Now my only thing is going to be where to have the yard sale.

Where I live is not exactly conducive to a good yard sale. My driveway is in a curve and I don’t have a lot of turn around space. Plus, most people stop at yard sales because they usually see something that catches their eye before they stop.

Well, at my house, you wouldn’t be able to see anything from the road because of the fence and bushes. So, while a yard sale would be an awesome way to get rid of some things, I need to find a place to have it. Any ideas?

A New Career

Nursing Tools - Collage Pictures, Images and PhotosI have been praying about starting a new career. I feel that I need something that is more stable long term and that will provide financial security for me and my family.

I have looked at a couple of different avenues. Like jobs in banking, child care facilities, and nursing, just to name a few. I am leaning more towards nursing.

I feel that with nursing, it would offer me job security long term. Because there will always be sick people and people in need of health-care. And it is not like you can build a robot to take care of these people. So I feel the security is there. And that is so important during these times.

Plus, I have always felt a sense and need to help people. I love knowing that I have made a difference for the better in someones life.

Of course, this means going back to school and getting a degree. I am not to thrilled with that part of it, but I think it is a small price to pay in order to make my dreams come true. And to help more folks and possibly save a life or two. That, to me, would be the most rewarding part of it all!
