There are all kinds of opportunities for missions. I have several friends who go on short-term mission trips to places like Honduras, Costa Rica, Jamaica and Brazil to name a few… If flying is an obstacle then there are plenty of mission opportunities right in your back yard!
For example, if you see a widow or single mother who need their yard cut, or maybe a deck that needs rebuilding, you would be amazed at what joy these simple tasks can bring.
Maybe there are homeless shelters or soup kitchens in your town that would love to have another helper. Perhaps you could be a mentor to a troubled teen or provide someone a ride to a support group for alcoholics or drug rehab.
I guess what it boils down to is this, if you have a heart to help there are so many people in need and you don’t have to look to hard and you could be a tremendous blessing in someones life.
Make a difference today, one person at a time….

Here it is. That time of year that you turn on the A/C and pull out that dreadful bathing suit.
Well, it is dreadful if you were on a diet and didn’t quite meet your goals. Which is my case.
I started out doing so well too. I started back in January with a goal of losing 30 pounds by the summer. Well, by March, I had already lost 17 pounds. So I am thinking that I am doing great, right?
Well, I was. I was eating healthy, drinking lots of water, exercising, and I was even taking one of the top 10 rated diet pills out there. Like I said, I was doing really good.
Then, I got married. And, well, my diet went down the tubes. Not only did my diet go away, all the weight I had lost, came flooding back in a hurry. AGGHH!
So now my goal of being in that dreadful bathing suit by the summer is just not going to happen this year.
My remedy for this problem, shorts and t-shirt!

Don’t you just hate it when you know that you need to fix something around the house, but you put it off so long that it finally comes to a point to where you can’t put it off any longer.
I am there. The time has come to where I can’t put it off anymore. I am talking about fixing my bathroom floor.
The house that I moved into over a year ago, had a bathroom floor that wasn’t exactly level. I had another bathroom to use so it was no big deal.
Well, now that there are more of us here, we need that extra bathroom.
So I went to Home Depot to check out their stuff and prices. As I was walking down the different aisles, I heard a lady asking about a zero radius sinks. I was wondering what that was as I have never heard of one. Apparently, they are like the new thing (or new to me) and they are supposed to be really good.
I guess when we build our house, we will have to look into getting one for us.
But for now, we are stuck with our own home improvement project. Getting our bathroom fixed so we will not all be sharing one.

I have a friend that lives in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Her grandson’s other grandmother has been diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer. Her name is Mars.
We are asking everyone that we know to put her on the prayer list, either personal and/or at church.
She was in the hospital but she is now back home. She has been taking chemo and radiation and the treatment seems to be working right now. Praise the lord for that.
WE know that there is power in prayer. My mom passed away last year from lung cancer and so I know first hand how difficult this is to go through. Pray for the family also.
Thank you for keeping Mars and their family in your thoughts and prayers. May God bless you and your family.
