(Please note that at no time is anyone told that they MUST worship God.) No need for free insurance quotes here, Jesus is all the insurance I need.

Extraordinary Women Conference

This past weekend I went to the Extraordinary Women Conference held in Greenville, SC. I have to say, it was amazing.

The conference is about getting women together in the presence of God and sharing life experiences and how we, as women deal with them.

This is what Angela Thomas has to say about it.  “When ordinary women come into the presence of God, extraordinary things begin to happen. Hearts begin to heal. The weary are made strong. The hope of Christ is renewed in your life. Come this amazing weekend and let the powerful love of God begin to transform your ordinary into extraordinary for His glory! ”
Angela Thomas
Best-selling author and speaker

A great friend of mine took notes and this is her recap of the weekend. Thank you Maria for taking the time to share this with us.

You are P-R-E-T-T-Y !

I don’t know about YOU, but I had a great time at the EWomen Conference and enjoyed making memories with you!  Although I did not get to hang-out with everyone, it was amazing to see ALL of the women who took time from their busyness of life to come hang with some messed up people who God calls His children!

Chonda Pearce was absolutely amazing!  Just proof to us  that God works out all of our “yuck” for His Glory by most of the time blessing others with sharing our “yuck” and giving Him the praise!

A little more recap ~ Karen Kingsbury ~ Honestly, I do not read her novels, but she reached into my life with her words at this conference.  “In life we don’t have time to figure out “whose fault” it is” and “When it’s raining, there is always sunshine just beyond the clouds.”  And her closing words “Take every moment captive for God.”  That will resonate in my heart for quick awhile.

Angela Thomas ~ UHHH, what can I say!  I love listening to this wonderful Lady!  I may be a bit bias because I have done her study, BUT she just wows me with her authentic, down-to-earth way of reaching my heart!  Remember her words on “soul sleep” ?  Being in the presence of God but still having your eyes closed?  “Open your eyes Baby Girl, open your eyes!”  For those that know me, I hate to shop.  My daughter says I am not a normal woman, but if I have to go shopping, I get in and get out, BUT Angela’s definition of shopping made me chuckle ~ Shopping is her “discipleship journey” with her girlfriend!   Too funny!  Also from Angela “stay turned towards Jesus” {FYI-Angela will be at Utica Baptist on April 30th @ 6:30pm.  Tickets are $10 and you can get them at their church office, Monday-Thursday 8am-5pm. There is limited seating, SO GO QUICKLY!}

Kathy Tricolli ~ What an amazing voice!!!!  Her 70’s medley, what an awesome time down memory lane for those of us who are old enough to remember those song :-)   I have implanted in memory what she shared about her Mom saying to her when she went out on a date “Have a good time honey, but he’s not for you.”  My daughter will hear this in the future . . .maybe

Michelle Hammond ~ I never have heard her before this conference, but she has a beautiful way of painting the picture of what she is speaking about AND her voice, just enjoyment to my ears.  One statement that struck me was “Do you ever feel unqualified for a conversation?”  Also, “Do you have layers of disappointment covering your heart that is keeping you from seeing the blessings when they come?”  ~ “We don’t keep secrets, secrets keep us”.~ “What well have you been visiting over and over again?” ~ “Don’t despise the trust, embrace it and be Free!”

And Stormie Omartian ~ Ephesians 3:20 “the power that works in us”  I liked her simplistic definition of prayer ~ communicating with God.  Simple and straight.  Also, “Wherever you are ‘locked up’ in your life, Jesus has the key.” And who can forget, it’s not ‘Change him, Lord” it’s “Change ME, Lord!”

’Who is WILLING to change, not who needs to change.”  OUCH!

The 4 Truths:

1)    Everybody needs to change; 2) Everybody can change;

3) We cannot make someone else change; and 4) Only God can make the changes in us that last.

“Get in the presence of God for change” and “Praise is the prayer that chances everything.”

AND, we have to give kudos to Charles Billlingsley for his amazing gift to move us with his singing AND his hilarious antics that made us laugh so much!   In my opinion, He could always fill in for Chonda if the need ever arises!!!!!

So ……………. as you can tell I took a lot of notes.  I am an ever-changing child being sculpted daily by my Father’s hands!

Thanks again for joining me this weekend.  Hope to do it again soon!

Love and Blessings to you,

Maria K.

P.S. You are P-R-E-T-T-Y and S-M-A-R-T!

I would encourage any woman out there, if you get the chance to go, make a point and go. You will be filled and blessed. Go to the Extraordinary Women’s website to get details of the towns they will be in next. And if you have a rewards card for a free hotel night, what better way to use it than this.

God bless.

Pepsi and Jesus

“On March 8, PepsiCo helped sponsor Family Guy, a perverted and sickening television program on FOX network.

PepsiCo helped sponsor the program which pushed the homosexual agenda and denigrated Christ. At a “straight” meeting, the speaker talks to gays about Jesus and tells them, “Jesus Christ, who hates many people, but none more than homosexuals.” The scene comes near the end of the video.”

This came to my email this morning and I wanted to share it with you. To find out more on this follow this link about Pepsi Boycott.

I feel that this is wrong and don’t mind voicing my opinion on it.

Jesus DOES NOT hate homosexuals, he loves them.  Just as He loves everyone. He hates sin. That is what Jesus HATES!!!

Let me put this in real, easy to understand terms and make it real to you.

If your child did something that you absolutely hated, like steal something, got piercings, got pregnant, whatever (you fill in the blank), would you HATE your child? Or would you hate the thing they did? I don’t know of any parent that would HATE their child.

God is the same way. We are His children. Think about it. God sent HIs only son to die for us. You don’t send your only child to die for someone that you like a little, or hate, you send your only child to those that you love so much. God our Father, hates the sin, not the sinner.

So, Pepsi and all of the other companies out there that is trying to insult my Jesus and God, I WILL NOT buy any of your products until you stop the insults and lies. I invite anyone else out there to visit the website and read more about it.

This is just my opinion and the way I feel.

My Laptop

I bought a laptop last year and I have been so pleased with it.

It is a Gateway and has everything that I wanted in a laptop. It is fast, has great memory, and I can burn CD’s with it, watch DVD’s, and it has amazing graphics on it.

I mainly use it in my business to show videos and pictures, and that is why I choose the package that I did with the laptop.

I wanted to give everyone a follow-up with my laptop and let you know that I am still very happy with it. It was a great purchase and I feel that I made the best decision. (sometimes I have buyers remorse when I spend that much money, but not this time.)

I would recommend this laptop to anyone looking for a good laptop. You can read more about this laptop in a previous post, click here.

Early Spring Cleaning

It is that time of year again when you start cleaning out all of the winter cobwebs and air your house out giving it that wonderful spring smell.

I started that great task last week when we had some really nice weather. I went through my children’s clothes and took out all of the ones that they had outgrown. Then I rearranged their rooms, cleaning out old toys as well.

Then I noticed that their blinds in their rooms were shabby and yucky. Well, those have to go! I went to the store and checked out some discount blinds. I was lucky enough to find them at a great price.

Got those home, changed them out, hauled the trash off and continued with my cleaning.

Well, if you are like me, you can’t get all of the Spring cleaning done in one day. So I decided to stop for the day and would pick it up the next day.

Wouldn’t you know it, my luck would have it. It turned rainy and cold the next day. We have had rain everyday since then. So I am patiently waiting to pick back up with my chores and Spring cleaning when our weather turns nice again.
