Discount Furniture

PhotobucketI recently spoke of shopping and how much I dislike it unless I am getting a deal. Well, I got a great deal and wanted to share with you.

I recently had to refurnish my house and had to buy a lot of furniture. I went to all of the normal stores, the big names and the small names.

I let them know what I needed to get and all the salesperson saw was dollar signs. They no longer viewed me as a valuable customer, they only saw dollar signs, which really bugged me.

I ran into that on several occasions. Well, me being me, and hating shopping the way I do, I was getting down right irked by this time.

Then a friend of mine saved the day! She told me about this discount furniture store in her area that has the same really nice stuff that the more expensive stores had but at a fraction of the cost.

I figured that it would be cardboard sofas and partical board dressers. But, reluctantly I went anyway. And man oh man, I am glad I did.

The stuff they had was very nice. It wasn’t the cheap stuff like you might would expect. No, this was real wood, really nice.

I asked the sales guy how it was that they could sale the furniture at such a discount. He proudly told me that it was because it was stuff the big guys couldn’t sell and it was taking up space.

Woo-hoo!!! Lucky me! I walked out of there with all of the furniture I needed as well as some freebies. They even delievered it all and set it up for me for free! I was very please and it was an actual shopping experience that I enjoyed! (if you can believe that)

As some of you may already know, I hate shopping. The only time that I enjoy shopping is if I am shopping for someone else.

But when I do have to shop, one of the best things I like to do is shop at wholesale clubs. One of the little games that I play with shopping is finding the best price for the item I am buying.

I love clearance items and I love wholesale shopping. I hate paying full retail price for anything that I get. Now, I am not saying that I don’t ever pay full price for something, but what I do do is look for the best possible deals out there.

I guess for me, that is what makes shopping bearable. Otherwise it would be like pulling teeth to get me to go shopping. :)

Weight Loss

As New Year’s approaches quickly, one of the biggest topics that a lot of people face is weight loss and making that New Year’s Resolution to loose weight.

I am in that same boat right now. I want to loose a few pounds and have looked at different programs. Of course all the weight loss programs promise the same thing. They promise massive weight loss with pictures that show a gorgeous guy or a beautiful woman who has lost a lot of weight. But then when you read the fine print at the bottom, it always states the same: “Weight loss results not typical”.

Heck, if the weight loss is not typical, then why should I use your product? What makes you different than others? I mean come on, have you ever met anyone that lost the weight using these well known products? I haven’t. You would be hard pressed to find miracles in any weight loss pills.

What I have found that works is 2 very simple things. And I am going to share those secrets with you right now. So brace yourself, you are getting this information for free.

1) Push away from the table and don’t eat fattening foods. That doesn’t mean that you have to eat stale, yucky food. You can pretty much eat what you want, but do it in small portions.

2) EXERCISE! Yes, I used that nasty 8 letter word. You are not going to get the results that you really want until you get off your butt and start doing something physical with your body. The old adage is true, if you don’t use it, you will loose it.

If you know that you are going to jump on the New Year’s Resolution weight loss frenzy, why not start now? Get ahead of the game and you will fit into that little black dress on New Year’s and you can make up resolutions that you might actually stick to.

Good luck.
