I guess I am finally going to break down and give in to the never ending pleas from my daughter to get a cat.

We already have a little dog that my sister brought with her from NC when she came to visit recently. He is a Poodle and Chihuahua mixed. He is cute and sweet, but I am not a real big dog person. But my kids love him so he is now part of the family.

You see, before we got the dog, my friend’s cat had kittens and I promised her that I would take one of them off of her hands.

When I was younger, I had a solid black kitten that I loved with all of my heart. She got hit by a car when she was 3 years old. Of course, I was devastated.

As you may have guessed, my friend’s little kitten that I want is solid black. Now I am sure some of you are thinking that that is bad luck, but I am not superstitious, so it really doesn’t matter to me.

I will go and pick her up this week. I have to go and get all of the necessary cat supplies needed. I haven’t decided yet if she will be an indoor or an outdoor cat. I will just have to see how well behaved she is.

Hormones Hit

PhotobucketMy dear son is going through the dreaded hormone stage. He will be 14 in a couple of weeks. It has been coming on for quite a while now but it has really hit hard and heavy over this summer.

He is about 5′10″ and wears size 12 shoe. He looks like he is about 16 or 17. He has got the whole acne thing going on and so we have started looking at different acne treatment cream that would help with his little acne problem.

He is a bit self-conscience about it, but I personally don’t think that it is bad at all. He wants to get it cleaned up because as most teenage boys at this time, he is noticing the girls now. UGGH!

He already wants to drive and get a job. I am here thinking, man slow down! You have plenty of time for all of that, but just like I was when I was his age, we are all in a hurry to grow up and try our own wings.

Seems like just the other day, he was toddling around and was my little boy that needed his mom for everything. Boy, they grow up too fast!

‘Watch’ Out

Don’t you just hate it when something that you love, or has a special meaning to you breaks. Yeah, me too.

I recently had one of my special Nautica watches break. I have had this watch for quite a number of years and loved it. Kept great time, was waterproof, and was all around a really good watch.

But I do have a replacement already. It is my mom’s watch that I gave to her several years ago for her birthday. This watch is very special because it was my mom’s and she is now gone. I have been wearing it daily, but I think that I may put it up and only pull it out for really special occasions.

I have noticed though, that I feel very naked without a watch. Nothing irritates me more than wanting to know the time, looking down at my wrist, and not having a watch there. So if my watch breaks or stops working, you better believe that I am heading to town to get me another one.

A New Laptop

Well, I did it. I finally got my new laptop. It is a Gateway and I bought it at Circuit City.

I went shopping and looked at all of the major stores and compared prices for the laptop. I also compared what I was getting for my dollar.

From what I have always understood, the Gateway is a higher end laptop, but amazingly enough, it was less expensive than the cheaper name brands. Not to mention that it was on sale as well.

It is really nice. It has 4GB memory, 320 gb hard drive, web-cam, Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 15.4″ screen, and lots of other stuff too. I really like it. I have no idea what the model is. I am sure it is on my receipt. I do know that it is the M-series, if that means anything to anyone.

The most important thing is, I am happy with it. I think I will keep this one. I am still trying to get used to the Windows Vista program. Not sure if I am happy with that or not yet.

Moving Around

I absolutely despise moving. I have done it more times than I care to mention much less than remember.

This time around, I was not moving my stuff, but my mom’s stuff. As some of you may remember, my mom passed away in April.

She had her own home with her own things and we had to divide it up among her kids, which there are 5 of us. It was so hard going into her home without her being there and even harder separating her stuff.

I knew that I was going to have to bring quite a bit of her stuff back with me and so I checked into how I was going to do it. I checked with a couple of moving services but I didn’t have enough time to book them. So I ended up just renting a moving truck.

We got it all loaded and headed back home. I then had to come up with a place for me to store her stuff here at my house. I plan on moving soon and didn’t want to have to move the stuff more than absolutely necessary.

I got a storage building and had it delivered to my home. I checked into storage buildings, but that was a waste of money.

I know that I am going to have to move again, which totally sucks, but hopefully, this will be the last time!
