Almost Finished

Well, my summer long project is almost complete.

I have been remodeling my 12 year old daughter’s room this summer while she has been away. She has no clue what I have been up to either.

I went through her room and threw out all the old and broken toys. Then I went through her clothes and gave a lot of stuff away that she doesn’t wear anymore. I also got rid of an old chest of drawers that she had in there too.

Once that big mess was cleaned up, I painted her walls. Not just any standard kind of painting either. I went all out and actually painted clouds too. I painted her walls sky blue, very relaxing, and painted in clouds. Although, if I had an airbrush, it would have been cooler, but I did the best I could with what I had to work with.

I bought her a new bedspread and totally re-did the whole theme of her room. She has also gotten a new bookcase because she loves to read and has a ton of books.

I will post before and after pictures once I am completely done with it. I must say, it is looking so awesome right now.

Vacation Planned

My family and I have planned our vacation for this year. We are going to DISNEY WORLD!!

I am so excited to be going. I took my 2 oldest children a few years back and loved it. We had such a wonderful time. I mean, who wouldn’t, it’s Disney World after all.

We are going later on in the year once the crowds have settled down a bit and the lines aren’t so long.

We are all looking forward to it so much. We were unable to go on vacation last year because I had my little angel and she was just too young to go anywhere.

My sister and her husband are going with us and we will all be able to spend some real quality time together.

One of my dream vacations is to visit the Greece Islands and stay in the Mykonos Villa rentals. That place is absolutely beautiful. But of course that will be a few years down the road.

My mom always wanted to go to Hawaii. That was always her dream vacation. But she passed away before she was able to go. But of course, she is in the most beautiful place in the world now, better than any beach, island, or tropical place you could go to here on earth.

But it did teach me that life is too short and we need to live life to the fullest. Have no regrets.

So if you get a chance to do something, or go somewhere, I say “Do it!”, you never know what tomorrow holds.

Nasty 4 Letter Word

What is the nasty 4 letter word I am referring to, you may ask? Well, it is DIET! Yeah, diet! (did you expect something else…lol)

I love food. I enjoy eating what I want and not have to worry about counting calories or points or any of that other stuff.

And for the last 20 months, I have been able to eat whatever I wanted and not have to worry about gaining weight. I was pregnant, then I breastfeed my daughter.

But now that my daughter is a year old and I have weaned her, I am noticing that I can’t just eat whatever I want now. Which totally stinks!

So now, I am having to be conscience of what I eat. No more late night snacks, ice cream and brownies, and all that yummy, fattening stuff.

So I am trying to figure out the best way to diet. I know that I don’t need any bodybuilding supplements mind you, but I need to diet and exercise.

I am thinking of doing Palates again. I did it a few years back and it worked wonders. I will keep you posted on how it goes! Wish me luck.

I saw this video from You Tube on Carol’s blog. It touched me and brought me to tears. This is so powerful. It is an incredible performance to the song “Who Am I” by Casting Crowns. What an awesome way to share the good news of Jesus and salvation.

Year Gone By

PhotobucketYou know, the old saying is so true…’Time really does fly’. My baby girl just turned a year old and I can’t believe it has been a year already.

It has been so wonderful being able to stay at home this past year and watching my daughter grow and discover all new things. The miracle of life is such an awesome thing anyway, but witnessing it firsthand, is something else all together.Photobucket

It hasn’t always been a bed of roses as most of the parents out there know. You have middle of the night feedings, 1,000’s of the disposable diapers, teeth cutting, and on and on!But all in all, it is a wonderful experience and I count myself blessed to have been able to experience it 3 times now.

I wanted to take this opportunity to let all parents out there know that no matter how hard it gets at times, our children are promises and blessings from the Lord and it is our job to guide them to the best of of abilities.
