HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

PhotobucketToday is my daughter’s 12th birthday! Man, time flies! What a goof!

She is off visiting family in North Carolina so I won’t be able to spend her birthday with her.

Hey, I can’t be selfish. I have had her to myself for the last 11 years. It is only fair that her grandparents get to have her a little too, right?

I did send her some balloons, teddy bear, and candy for her birthday. She was so happy and felt so special. She called me and was so excited when she got them. She went on and on about her balloons and the card I sent.

She is going to have a big birthday surprise when she gets home. I am redoing her room and she will have a totally remodeled room. KVM! “Keep victory in mind”! I have to remind myself of this so that I can get it done. It is turning into a larger project than originally planned.

I know that the end result will be great. At least it better be! lol I will post before and after pictures when it is completed!

Spruce It Up

I spent most of my day cleaning. It is not one of my most favorite things to do by no means, but it has to be done.

One of the things that I have done to ’spruce’ the place up a bit is to paint the bathroom. I am currently deciding on colors and haven’t made a definite decision yet.

I am also taking on the challenge of re-doing my daughters room while she is away this summer. That alone is an enormous task! I didn’t realize that one 12 year old girl could stuff that much stuff in such a small space.

On the surface, her room ‘appeared’ to be clean, but when you lift things up, look under or behind the bed, in the closet, etc., you soon find that it is NOT clean at all.

I am have to move a chest of drawers out and look into some more home furniture for her room. Of course I will keep you posted on how THAT goes. She may end up with a few plastic drawers and that’s it.

Man, that girl has got so much junk. Can you say PACK RAT!!! I will post pictures when I have them. I promise, I am not exaggerating!

A Nice Reminder

I saw this story on Saved by Jesus‘ website and I wanted to pass it along. It is such a great reminder for all of us. You never know who is watching.

Several years ago, a preacher from out-of-state accepted a call to a church in Houston , Texas . Some weeks after he arrived, he had an occasion to ride the bus from his home to the downtown area.

When he sat down, he discovered that the driver had accidentally given him a quarter too much change. As he considered what to do, he thought to himself, “You’d better give the quarter back. It would be wrong to keep it.”

Then he thought, “Oh, forget it, it’s only a quarter. Who would worry about this little amount? Anyway, the bus company gets too much fare; they will never miss it.

Accept it as a ‘gift from God’ and keep quiet.”

When his stop came, he paused momentarily at the door, and then he handed the quarter to the driver and said, “Here, you gave me too much change.”

The driver, with a smile, replied, “Aren’t you the new preacher in town? I have been thinking a lot lately about going somewhere to worship. I just wanted to see what you would do if I gave you too much change. I’ll see you at church on Sunday.”

When the preacher stepped off of the bus, he literally grabbed the nearest light pole, held on, and said, Oh God, I almost sold your Son for a quarter.”

Our lives are the only Bible some people will ever read. This is a really scary example of how much people watch us as Christians and will put us to the test!

Always be on guard — and remember — You carry the name of Christ on your shoulders when you call yourself “Christian.”

Watch your thoughts; they become words.

Watch your words; they become actions.

Watch your actions; they become habits.

Watch your habits; they become character.

Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.

I’m glad a friend forwarded this to me as a reminder. God bless you; I hope you are having a wonderful day! If you don’t pass this on to anybody, nothing bad will happen; if you do, you will have ministered to someone.

The Will of God will never take you to where the Grace of God will not PROTECT you… Stay

FAITHFUL and Be GRATEFUL!

Hope you enjoyed. May God continue to bless you and keep you and yoru family well.

Almost There

The church that I go to is building a new building. We have outgrown our current location and what an awesome thing.

The building we are currently in is like 16,000 square feet and the new building is going to be over 32,000 square feet.

It should be complete and we should have our first service there by the 6th of July. I am including a link to the church for you to see.

If you live in the surrounding area, I would highly recommend you stopping by and visiting with us here. It is a fast paced, upbeat church that has a very down home, warm feeling to it. You certainly wouldn’t be disappointed.

Follow this link…Foothills Community Church. Once you are on the page, go to the bottom right hand corner and click on the link that says ‘Only One Life Campaign”. There are truly some very exciting and awesome thins happening here, you don’t want to miss out on!!!

The ‘Weinee’ Mobile

On my recent visit to NC, I saw the coolest thing.

Have you ever seen the commercials on TV with the Oscar Mayer Wiener Mobile? Well, my son, daughter, and I saw it up close and personal. It was so awesome!

They were in Burlington, NC. They travel all over the US. They are out of Wisconsin.

We were able to sit in the mobile and look inside, take as many pics as we wanted. We were even able to send a postcard to anyone we wanted to and they would pay the postage on it.

If we sang the Oscar Mayer Bologna song, we would get a weinee whistle. Yep, you guessed it, I sang it and got one for my little angel!

Hope you enjoy the pics here!
