Yuck…Pollen

Hibiscus pollenHere in the wonderful south, we have something known as pollen. Ii is the cause of many allergies and a lot of dirty, yellow looking vehicles.

I am one of the fortunate ones who don’t suffer from allergies, but no so fortunate when it comes to my vehicles. You see, pollen doesn’t care where it lands, and so, no car, truck, van, bike, or SUV is safe from the pollen.

Oh, pollen is great and it makes things bloom and green and lush. But the down side is having to clean everything on the outside because of this little yellow substance.

I am the kind of person that hates to clean my cars. But I don’t like the automatic washes either. I just don’t think they get it clean like it should.

So I had the joy today of going and cleaning my cars. And it never fells, I always spend about $10 getting it cleaned.

But today while I was cleaning my van, I had the great and wonderful task of cleaning not only pollen, but nice big bugs out of the Ford grill. YUCK!!

The heavy duty sprayer didn’t get it,so I had to take a brush to really get in there and get the job done right. But I am happy to report, the grill is now bug free. Woo-hoo!viragon-ugralo

A New TV?

Sony Bravia LCD TV 32 inchesI have been thinking about what I am going to spend my extra tax money on this year. I got more back than I originally thought I was going to, which is really great. Not complaining here, no sir!

I am debating on whether or not to get a new TV. I have a pretty decent one now but I am in need of a new one.

I have been looking at all sorts of TVs. The one I am most interested in is the LCD Plasma. I love LCD. My monitor that I look at A LOT is LCD.

My biggest decision right now is what size and how much do I want to spend on it. I would love to have a flat screen but not sure if it would work with my decor.

I did stumble across a website that may help me out though. They offer Circuit City coupons, and so if I can save a little money, then maybe I can get a bigger size. And in my world, when it comes to TVs, bigger is definitely better.

But on the other hand, I do have a good one. Maybe I will look into investing some of the extra money. Who knows? Maybe I will take a long needed vacation with it!

DMV…again

It has taken me a whole day to cool off from dealing with DMV! As some of you read from one of my previous post on DMV Strikes Again, I told about the troubles that I have been having with the great DMV.

Well, I went back up there again yesterday after getting all of the paperwork that they told me that they needed.

I waited in line, my number was called, and walked up there thinking to myself, ‘finally, I am going to get this done’.

The lady was asking me for the paperwork she needed. I kindly and proudly handed it over to her. She stopped in mid-process and took two of the papers to her ’supervisor’.

At first, I thought she was going to make copies of the papers, then I saw her going into the dreaded office.

She came back with ‘that look’! I looked at her and she told me that I needed MORE papers. I needed to prove how my name went from one last name to another.

She apologized profusely. I guess she saw the ‘look’ in my eyes! I am sure that my face was red and she could tell just how ticked I was.

I walked out of there and if I had of had my blood pressure tested in that moment, I am sure it would have been through the roof!

I refused to go back up there again yesterday. So, for the 6th time, I will go on Monday. I have just really had it with getting this stuff and running back and forth. I feel like a puppet on DMV’s string.

The crazy thing is the paper that they needed, should not have been needed. But whatever! I did not want to loose my temper or my testimony by blowing my top in there. Not to mention, that my 11 year old daughter was with me and what would that teach her if she saw me go off on them.

Hopefully Monday, I will get done what needs to be done! Hopefully!!!

DMV Strikes Again

Future DMVHave you ever had your patience tested? Well, I have on more than one occasion, but today, it was DMV that tested it.

I went to get the tag and title to my van again. This was the 4th time I have tied to get this done.

When I went the first 2 times, I was required to get more paperwork. Then on the third time I went, their computers were down.

Today, I go to get it all done and they tell me that I now need the death certificates of the people that passed away from which I acquired the van from. DO WHAT?!!?
I kindly told them that that was not mentioned the first 2 times that I was there. After speaking to the supervisor twice on the subject and pointing out their own ‘rules’ on the matter, they agreed to do it.

Whew! Finally going to get it done, right? WRONG!! My last name was different in the system. UGGHHH!!!

So now I have to go back up there for the 5th time to get this ONE simple thing done. I am a bit frustrated but I am trying to keep a positive attitude through it.

You know, no wonder DMV is ALWAYS busy. If they would tell people exactly what they need the first time around, maybe people wouldn’t get so frustrated with them and they could get thier job done the first time instead of taking 3, 4, or 5 times to do it!

HELP…My Hydrangea

My hydrangea is doing a little better. The leaves have perked back up since I have re-potted it to a bigger pot. I used some really rich soil to pot it and have kept a close eye on the water that it needs.

My question is this. The buds on the plant where the flowers used to be are dead. Do I need to cut those off? If so, do I use safety cutters? How much do I cut? Do I take just the dead blooms off without cutting?

I need some serious advice here. Please, if anyone has any help on this matter, I would really appreciate it! Thanks!
