There are alarms everywhere now a days. You have alarm clocks, watch alarms, fire alarms, house alarms, alarm system monitoring, police ‘alarms’…yep, everywhere, there are alarms.
But the most annoying alarm is the car alarm. I am sure you have heard them go off. It isn’t that bad the first 10-30 seconds of the thing going off, but when it goes on and on, it is like nails on a chalkboard.
I went shopping this afternoon and while I was in the store, I started hearing as alarm going off. At first, I didn’t think much of it. Going about my business, getting my shopping done.
Then, the alarm continued to screech on. I started thinking to myself that someone needs to shut that stupid alarm off. I mean come on, how long does the thing need to go off before the owner goes out and shuts the stupid thing OFF!!!
The thing is still blaring. I started looking around the store wondering who could the idiot be? Who could possibly let their alarm go off and make the rest of us suffer from the annoying sound.?
As I looked around, I began to realize that there were only 2 other people in the store besides me. And they were looking around with the same dumbfounded look on their face that I had.

Then, I started thinking. What if I am the idiot? Where are my keys? Did I hit the panic button by mistake?
Well, sure enough, the keys were in my pocket, I had mistakenly hit the panic button. Boy, talk about feeling like a complete IDIOT!!!
I hid behind some racks, pointed my key fob in the direction of my car, and turned off the panic button. Once I did, the few folks in the store started clapping and not wanting to look like the idiot that I already felt I was, I joined in!

Don’t you just hate it when you go to the bathroom and you flush, and BAM!!! Flood and over flows. Or, the crazy thing won’t stop running. Or worse still, the dreaded leak!
It has happened.
I have plunged, snaked, liquid drano’d, and done everything short of throwing that white throne in the trash.
Well, today was the day. I finally broke down and went and bought a new toilet. It was not on my to-do list, but it had to be done. It was more trouble than it was worth.
The kids and I went to Lowe’s and got a new toilet. While we were there, we looked around at all of the cool stuff that only Lowe’s has.
We looked at garden stuff, ceiling fans, bathroom lighting, counter tops, flooring, you name it, we looked at it. Going to Lowe’s is almost like taking a field trip. We spent a good 2 hours in there.
We came out with a new throne. My son and I got it installed and woo-hoo, we are ’sittin pretty’ now.

Flushing a toilet is one of those little things you take for granted until you have one that doesn’t work. Then once it gets fixed, it is the greatest thing to sliced bread!

What a fabulous Easter!!! My children and I went to my mom’s in NC for the weekend.
We wanted to spend Easter with my mom and some of our family. It was great. I couldn’t tell you how long it has been since we have spent Easter together as a family.
You see, I live out of state from my mom and my other family members. Especially since my mom has been diagnosed with cancer, I try to spend as much time there as possible.
This weekend was no exception. We drove up to NC on Thursday and stayed til Tuesday.
My aunt and I dyed Easter eggs with the kids, baked cookies, made a fabulous banana split cake (believe me…it was yummy), and hung out together. My mom was a spectator but loved every minute of it.

Then on Sunday, we all got up and went to church with my brother. It was the first time we had gone to church together on Easter in years. So many, that I couldn’t tell you when the last time it was.
We came home after a wonderful service and made a terrific Easter dinner. It was such a blessing to have been able to spend that not only with my mom but my aunt and brother as well.
You know, although my mom has cancer and her days are numbered, it makes you more thankful to spend that time with one another. None of us are promised our next day much less our next breath.
I am living in the NOW, the today. Only God knows what tomorrow may hold.

It has been over a week since my last post and that has a lot to do with my going to NC for the weekend.
I went to see my mom and family over the Easter break and it was wonderful.
As some of you already know, my mom is in Stage 4 cancer and has started undergoing treatments.
She is actually doing better although the chemo and radiation is making her sick and weak, which is to be expected. But her breathing has improved and she is even sleeping in a bed now. Before, she was sleeping sitting up because of her labored breathing.
She had surgery this past Monday to have a porta-cath put in. Basically what that is, is a device that connects straight to a main artery. That way, each time they have to put an IV in or draw blood, they won’t have to stick her. They just insert the needle in the cather and do what needs to be done.
While she was in surgery, her lung collapsed. The doctors worked very quickly to get her lung back up. She came through it like a champ.
She had to stay in the hospital for almost 2 days, which is no condo hotel, let me tell you, but that was only precautionary. Just to make sure her lung healed properly.
I am happy to report, she is back home, breathing well, and doing as well as to be expected.
Thank you all for your continued prayers for my mom. We are all very hopeful.

You know, with all of the death that I have experienced in the last couple of years, and with my mom having stage 4 cancer, I have started looking into life insurance.
There are lots of different insurances that you can get. Term life insurance, whole life insurance, death benefits, and so on and so on.
I found an awesome website that I checked into some prices of term life insurance. They give you quotes based on a couple of easy questions that you answer.
It is definitely worth your time to go and check it out. Heck, who knows when your time may be up and you don’t want to leave you love ones in need.
Life insurance is a good thing and the best part about it, it is affordable. Do yourself and your loved ones a favor, if you don’t have life insurance yet, at least check it out and see the benefits of it.
